This weekend has been entirely crazy. I was planning on blogging on Friday but I had so much to do. We even had an internet outage so I was like bleh. I also have a new Flickr so feel free to add me. I have ZERO 3 contacts on there at the moment. A lot of people were like omg you need a Flickr and where are they to be found? lol so if you want to see some hideous photos of me and other people I know you can add me. The link will always be at the bottom in my footer or on the my links page.
I FINALLY finished the wordpress theme for my visitors to download. You can download it and view the live demo here. If the feedback on this theme goes well, then I’ll try to create more. So if you like it or not, just let me know in the comments. I spent more time on it than I did my own theme. I also did two Pink for October wallpapers.
A lot of things annoy me online and I don’t know about you but I think it’s list-worthy:
# 10 - Popping out of nowhere
Every so often, like every few moths, there’s always that “online friend” that you talked to for a while who pops on on IM after you take them off stealth just to bug you. It doesn’t help that I have 4-5 of those friends. If we’ve stopped talking, don’t comment me on MySpace on day just because you see that I have a new picture. Don’t add me on Facebook just to make it seem like you have friends. I mean it’s just annoying and you know I can’t say no because I’m too nice of a person. Just don’t do it at all. Faux friendships are never cool.
#9 -Your layout hurts me, please stop
I know my layouts aren’t always that appealing either. It took me 3 years to get it right so I know the “newbie” factor. There aren’t many sites that teach you how to code properly/design effectively and the ones that do are impossible to find with a simple Google search. However there are just some people who have been designing for YEARS, who go to college to get degrees in graphic design, and who have sites that look thrown together in paint. I mean just stop. Just download a pre-made or a WP theme from somebody else and consider a new career.
#8 - Improper use of blog etiquette
If your blog says, “I always comment back”, how about you do the world a favor and comment back? If you have commenting others, simply don’t put it on your site. I think it’s hilarious how so many people complain about not having comments but don’t comment back. Hmm..interesting. Turn the comments off.
#7 - UR ON EH MESSAGE BOARD && NOW UR SO KEWL
This is the reason why I stopped joining message boards/forums/MBs or whatever. Just because you’ve been on a message board for 30 years of your 18 years of life does not mean that the rest of us owe you anything. Why is it so hard for people to be nice to new kids? OBVIOUSLY, they’re not going to get the 50 year-old “inside jokes” or know how everything operates so what’s the purpose of shunning them before they even get a chance? I mean grow up, seriously.
#6 - StIcKy CaPs & other grammar flaws
Just stop. Really, we do not think the way you TYP3 iss UN!qUE. We think you are an idiot who didn’t pass third grade grammar. It’s also annoying when you put unnecessary semi-colons, periods, and commas where they don’t belong.
#5 - Auto-play
I could’ve sworn we got over auto-play being cool since Xanga in 2004. Just don’t do it. It’s not cute. Half of the time the music on auto-play sounds terrible. I’ve never been to a site with auto-play and just thought, “WOW, what cool music. Let me try to figure out what song this is, who it’s by, and then go add it to my music library.”

#4 - Identity Theft
If it’s not yours, don’t claim it is. If you don’t have it, don’t say you do. If I got a dollar for everytime I’ve encountered someone online stealing somebody else’s pictures/identity, I’d have my own studio in Los Angeles. If you think you look like the Hunchback of Notre Dame, remain online anonymous. Stealing somebody else’s pictures does not make you any more likeable. It’s immature (which most people are these days), time-consuming (saving, stalking one person making sure you have everything separate/don’t encounter any of their friends. REALLY?), and just stupid.
#3 - ”Stealing” or other forms “creative expressions”
This would go under identity theft but this is the “art form” of stealing things from other people’s sites. Why do you feel the need to waste time stealing CSS, graphics, and etc? Is it really that serious? If you’ve spent more than 3 minutes looking at someone else’s source code, you have a problem. It would be easier to just e-mail the person, ask them how they did it, and move on. But NO, we have some people who sit and just copy and paste an entire site, go on to get hosted by somebody else and upload it. For what? What pleasure do you get out of it?
I mean I understand graphic styles are always going to be duplicated in one way or another, but just straight stealing and putting your name on it…really that’s pathetic.
#2 – e-Drama

In the time you have to argue with somebody online, you could be doing so many other constructive things: riding a bike, taking a walk, cooking, doing your laundry, washing your car, and etc. Talking shit about people online is one of the oldest, immature things I’ve ever encountered in my life. It’s OLD. It’s TIRED. Nobody gives a damn.
You’re doing a lot of unnecessary typing. A lot of unnecessary CAPS USAGE. Don’t forget the poor overusage of the exclamation point. It’s even funnier when somebody says that “they don’t care” but go to blog about it elsewhere as if the person(s) they’re “beefing” with don’t know where to find this information. If you find yourself encountering an e-fool, do the most simple thing you can. IGNORE THEM. If they cause harm to your site or threaten to, block their IP and anyone else who jumps on their bandwagon to spam you. If you choose to write back, let it be in an e-mail between you and them and keep it that way. The internet would be so much more fun without e-drama (for some of us) so let’s keep it that way.
#1 - GET YOUR CLEAVAGE OUT OF MY FACE
I don’t care about your double-Ds, keep them out of my face. Do not upload pictures of your breastses, yabos, bewbies, hooters, slag bags, or whatever you choose to call them. Just don’t do it. Your breasts don’t have mouths. Your brain is located in your head, so use it and take a nice face shot instead. I don’t care about the new bra you claim to have gotten at Victoria’s Secret but secretly purchased it for $5.99 at Wal-Mart. I’m sure there’s some horny 12 year-old boy or 62 year-old man grandpa getting off to your overstuffed chest items, but please think about the rest of the world and try maintaining your self-respect. It’s okay to have a lowcut shirt and have a face picture. I mean that’s okay sometimes, but just shoving a lens in your shirt is just unacceptable. I think I’ll start collecting cleavaage (booty shots included) and selling them to horny old men online for hundreds of dollars. As long as you’re legal, I can’t be caught up in a child pornography scam.

Oh man, I totally feel the same about auto-play. 99% of the time I’m online I’m listening to something in iTunes, so when a song starts up on someone’s site it totally throws off my groove for a minute. xD I don’t mind music players–it’s fun to see a site owner’s favorite songs, sometimes–but they have to have a pause button and they can’t start by themselves!
I absolutely love this: “Your brain is located in your head, so use it and take a nice face shot instead.” You should trademark it, or at least make icons quoting it or something. I get so sick of ‘look at me, I’m so hot’ pictures, especially from older teenagers/adults. When I see a 14 year old with a photo like that, although I don’t agree with it, it’s a little more understandable because they’re not as mature. But a 20 year old? Give me a break!

I agree with most of the things you listed! Especially the auto-play. It’s pretty darn freaky when you have your volume on max and all of a sudden theres music ongoing even though you haven’t pressed the play button.

OMG! I laughed so freaking HARD! :crazy: That list was RIGHT TO THE POINT! I personally cant stand the Internet drama, the duplications of sites, and the eye burning of people who think their sites are the bomb diggity!!! Lol. The photo thing, is iffy! People who lack attention in actual life, seek it online, so I guess if they want old farts fantasizing over their naked flesh, by all means go ahead… I just don’t want it popping up on my screen when I am downloading music or important software to keep my computer from bursting into flames! Lol. Plain & simple, the Internet is a circus show!

Girl, I’ve had a fit trying to get to your site in Internet Explorer :secret: I am using Firefox now and it works just right :biggrin: Thanks for the compliment on the layout too. I hope that I get the hang of WP soon too. I guess since I’m aggravated I’m missing what I’m doing wrong with it. Your new theme is real pretty, love those colors! Now on to your list. I really agree with you on all but Number 1 is the most. A lot of girls take pictures of their booty and chest and stick it on Myspace like it ain’t nothing and they do it with great pride too. I thought that Myspace was a place to keep up with friends, not showcase your body. Guess I’m wrong!
I agree with #8, #7 (depends on the MB in my opinion), #6, and #5 (You’re right. I have never heard a song that I’ve liked on autoplay…). I’ve ran into each of these and they have always annoyed me.
Recently, it’s the people who say we’ll respond back to comments. If someone posts a comment on my blog, I will keep my word and comment back. It’s a form of thanks and showing that I visited your blog since you took the time to visit mine.
However, I am also stickler for #6 only because I am an Journalism major and English minor. Please don’t kill the language…. :evil:
Lastly, I love the flash of Blair. Blair is amazing… I like her more than Serena.
