Frustration Has A Name

Happy Sunday! How is everyone? If the past few days have been anything like mines, then you have been feeling frustrated. I have been attempting to think creatively for a new WordPress theme to fit the atmosphere I’m trying create here on the site. This theme is lovely, but the errors on my pages are distracting. I tediously took an effort to create something, and I abhor it. I inexorably created something that is below my personal standards, and I dislike looking at it.

I become frustrated as my designs turn for the worst while designing for myself. I’m debating on making it a free WordPress theme or HTML template. I want a design that features letterpress elements with a zen atmosphere. I am trying to avoid element clashing with textures, patterns, and typography. I despise flashy colors, but I would like it to be colorful. My main focus is the web typography, which will be executed with sIFR and CSS. I may even implement jQuery in the menu and comments. I cannot achieve this goal with the mediocre designs I create for myself.

They say you are your worst client. I will continue my regular posting while attempting to make my dream layout. I despise having so many sources of inspiration and not sharing them with you. If you follow me on Tumblr, you see how many inspirational images and quotes I post daily. I recently visited an area with wonderful interior design accessories and realized my site wasn’t active to share them with you.

You can take the blogger away from the blog, but you can’t take the blogging out of the blogger. Being a blogger at heart means the world to me, even if I must do it with a semi-manageable theme placed up. It is interesting to see that my visitor stats have remained constant (who knew?) even though I have been absent. It seems as if people do enjoy this place. I’m currently thinking of  allowing affiliates outside of the few people I consider friend-worthy. However with the sites that I love and visit daily, my link list is already long enough. It’s probably a horrible idea, but I am considering it anyway. I’ll see you all tomorrow, when the real work begins!

EDIT: I’ve added a Lifestream, that I found via Shannon‘s site. For those of you who want to keep up with me, you know where to go.

Well thank you and good luck with your job hunt, too :) Hopefully we’ll both luck out and get some jobs really soon!

Sorry the theme you made didn’t turn out the way you wanted it. Using it as a free theme would be a good idea though, so it doesn’t go to waste.

I didn’t know you had a Tumblr! I am going to follow you now.

    Hey :)

Yeah Twitter really is a powerful tool when it comes to advertise your newest blogs and stuff! You just have to follow the right people and the right people to follow you!

It really sucks that you couldn’t get your new layout to be the way you would love it.. I hope you have more luck with your next attempt! I always loved your layouts on here :) Looking forward to your next one :)

Gonna go and follow you on Tumblr if you don’t mind :)

I have to admit, I’m my own worst client. However, I have realized that my passion for web designing has nearly burned out. It’s definitely not something that I could see myself doing for the rest of my life, which is why I created my current theme, which will probably be up for quite a while. My inspiration is minimal these days and I don’t have much patience for html/css let alone anything else. I do try when I have the time though.

I’ve followed you on Tumblr by the way! I don’t use mine often but I do think that I should use it more often. I often have random things that I’d like to post about.

I am notoriously bad about that. I design a new layout for my site, then I begin to LOATHE it before I even get it finished. That’s why I leave layouts up for such long periods of time…I’m definitely my own worst critic when it comes to that.

I’ve never joined Tumblr, but Twitter is like my second online home!

I definitely think you are your own worst client!!! I am so picky on things I do, whereas other people like the way it looks! Ugh!

Ah, making layouts and hating them. I hate making themes now. Every time I get away from my site, I friggin forget how to work WP. It’s sad. Uh, I miss you? Yep. I have a Tumblr and I followed you. Your inspirational posts are great. I draw blank, too much is going on up there to think properly. x_x

Oh gosh, do I ever know that feeling. I’ve been trying in vain to come up with a design for my blog that conveys exactly what I wish my blog said about me, but to no avail! And it’s so true in so many ways and across so many media; we really are our own worst critics.

I wish you the best coming up with something that pleases you! I think you have some really compelling and thoughtful ideas behind what you want the design of your blog to be. :D
